TD Community Giving has recognized the efforts of our Warm Place for Women program, believing in the power of providing a ‘hand up’ to women and children in our community.
Warm Place for Women is known as a delicious dinner for women of a lower socio-economic background, but it is not just a dinner; it’s an opportunity to build friendships, meet other like-minded women and an opportunity to build community!
Soroptimist International of the TriCities has been running Warm Place for Women for over 10 years now. What started as one woman showing up our very first night, to our regular attendance ranging from 70 – 120 women and their children in attendance. We’ve shared educational programs, clothing and resources, seasonal activities and more. Each year the program evolves to reflect the needs of the community and our own volunteers.
