Soroptimist Tricities is one of the community partners this year supporting this United Way initiative!
As a club, we have the power to empower those that do not have regular access to menstrual products by raising money and collecting product that will be delivered to community partners like Share. Unfortunately more than a quarter of people that get their period in Canada have had to go through a full cycle with no access to menstrual products whatsoever, and through Covid women have disproportionately been affected by job losses leaving them having to choose between buying tampons and pads, or food for their families.
We are helping to get product to people that need it in 2 ways.
#1 Make a financial donation
Financial donations are United Ways preferred method this year and having your family and friends use the link below will ensure any financial donations will stay local. http://bit.ly/burkepp Also, feel free to share the graphic above on your social media channels, along with the link.
#2. Donate Product
We’ll be organizing a Soroptimist Drive-by Drop-off event on May 22nd, from 10:30am to 1pm at the Safeway Parking Lot – 2850 Shaughnessy in Port Coquitlam. This will be the opportunity for your friends to bring product to a central location. If you need to drop off product before the date is published, please contact info@soroptimisttricities.org.
