Catherine Fast has over 20 years’ experience in BC Healthcare, graduating from UBC as an Occupational Therapist in 1994. She led the implementation of the BCNU/OHSAH sponsored PEARS (Prevention and Early Return to Work Safety) program at Vancouver General Hospital, successfully rolling that out across all of Vancouver Coastal Health in the 2000s. She went on to become the Corporate Director for Employee Wellness and Safety at PHSA, Chief Executive Director at OHSAH in 2010 (its final year) and then Executive Director, Workplace Health at VCH. Before retiring in 2016 she developed and implemented a Mental Health Strategy for the BC Nurses’ Union.
